Breast Cancer is most common cancer among women. Through early detection and treatment, women can survive breast cancer. Women can avoid having to remove the whole breast through early detection.
Consider this
- Your risk increases if you
a) are over 40 years old
b) have a close relative (mother, sister or daughter
who has breast cancer)
- Four in five women diagnosed with breast cancer have no known risk factors
Your best defence
Early detection is your best defence. It offers a better chance of successful treatment and recovery.
- Know the signs of breast cancer.
- Do regular breast checks through breast self-examination, clinical breast examination and mammography (breast X-ray).
- If you notice a change in your breasts, see a doctor immediately.
